What Do You Worship?
I have found myself recently thinking more about the tools that I am using than the reason why I am using them. It is obviously important for me to think about the tools, but should I really be spending more time thinking about them than about why I use them? The reason I do what I do is the same reason that all of us at Reef to Outback do what we do; To Help Young People To Know God and to Make Him Known. If it wasn't for that core motivation I would definately not be in my seventh year as a full-time volunteer. Lets be honest, doing IT work for free isn't exactly a very attractive proposition.
So what do I worship? The tools that I use Or the God that I serve? I know that thre primary reason that even use these tools is God, but I need to continually be checking my motivations and where my heart is...

- Good Question
troutdude on Wednesday, August 3, 2005Thanks for asking that hard question. There are times when we all may struggle with tools or talents taking our hearts aways from God, just like the Israelites made the golden calf (maybe thinking it carried God) only to worship it. God used your question to help me today. Thanks
