Cyclone Katrina

Yesterday I stopped and watched a bit of some of the news from the US about Hurricane Katrina.  It sure did pack a punch and cause A LOT of damage.

Kind of in line with my previous entry about the Tsunami here is a link to a site with some resources and stuff for Christians helping others deal with this disaster; Resources in the Wake of Katrina:
With "hundreds" feared dead, Mississippi governor Haley Barbour told the "Today" show "the devastation . . . is just enormous." In New Orleans conditions worsened as a breach in the levee system sent more water into the already flooded city...
It sure is shocking to see some of the destruction from a category 5 hurricane.  I slept through a strong category 1 storm (It was downgraded from category 2 just before it hit land) and I saw some of the destruction that it caused, including knocking out power for 3-days, but that was nothing compaired to what a category 5 can do.

In Townsville we live in an area prone to Cyclones, I just hope that we don't see anything like that hit us here...
