Two entries in one day. Woo.
Anyway...
I took Zoe back to see Dr. Y this morning and other than a slight case of thrush on her tongue from the antibiotic and Prednisone she's doing well. Her scabs haven't dropped off yet and they're still exhibiting a lovely spectrum of highly unnatural colors, but he says they look good.
Ack. I wonder what the bad ones look like?
She hasn't gotten the puppy breath and she hasn't had any tough days since she came home so we're really pleased with how this whole deal has worked out. Plus, the change in her sleep is phenomenal.
She should drop her scabs by the end of the week so if she's going to start bleeding it should start some time between now and Friday, so Dr. Y wants to see her again on Friday. Zoe won't mind. The receptionist gave her a huge Barbie sticker for being a good girl and promised her another one the next time she comes in, so she'll probably be looking forward to it.
I do wish I had had the presence of mind to ask Dr. Y to let me see her tonsils and adenoids after her surgery. Not to be gross, but just because I think it would be pretty cool to see what they look like. I'm going to try and get a picture to post here of what her throat looks like but she doesn't seem to like the 'say aah' thing so I'm not sure she'll allow it.
I did find this, though. They're not Zoe's but they are a fresh removal I found on the internet. Behold the glorious beauty and majestic form that is the human tonsils:
