I can not fathom why anyone is surprised by Bush's veto of the bill that would bring the troops home.
To approve the plan is the same as admitting that he made a mistake, and he is not about to do that. Look at his record.
It has been undeniably proven that there were never WMDs in Iraq. Has our president ever once acknowledged that he based an invasion of a country we were not currently having issues with upon a lie?
Has he ever once even hinted that he had a separate agenda regarding Iraq? The goals for Iraq change every other flipping week as new reasons for staying arise four years after the mission was supposedly accomplished. If the mission had indeed been accomplished would he continually refuse to withdraw, and keep submitting requests for more funds to continue the occupation? His supporters need to think about that.
Has he admitted to making any mistakes whatsoever during his administration?
Where the hell is Osama Bin Laden? Does anyone know or care? Bush doesn't. He has publicly stated that he no longer considers the capture of Bin Laden to even be a priority. How can that be? Bin Laden was the chief planner and bankroll for the most devastating terrorist attacks ever to take place on American soil. He was the same planner/provider of funds for the bombing of the Cole in Yemen. Coalition forces managed to find Saddam fucking Hussein hiding like a rabbit in a hole in the ground, but the combined forces can not locate the most recognized terrorist in the world?
The attacks were planned, funded and based in Afghanistan, yet our courageous leader chose to invade Iraq instead? Bin Laden was most likely in Afghanistan somewhere, yet brilliant leader made the mental leap that Iraq - a country that was NOT involved in the 9/11 attacks - was a better target for occupation than the country that was actually involved.
How can anyone examine the evidence and conclude that there was no separate agenda for Iraq?
He hasn't admitted to a single mistake. Indeed he seems to think that he is on some holy mission (he claims that god talks to him) and is therefore exempt from scrutiny or questioning. Time and again he has made disastrous choices that have eaten up money and lives like a two year old voraciously devouring christmas candy, yet he admits to no mistakes and no wrongdoing. He even says he would have done nothing differently.
How's that for delusional?
So was anyone actually surprised that he vetoed the bill?
How anyone can still show unconditional support for this man? There are thousands of people wandering about their lives like sheep, swallowing unquestioningly every lie and false promise this man makes. No matter what he does or how negatively it affects even their own families they stand by him and anticipate his next move with admiration and approval. There is nothing he could do that is viewed as wrong or even mildly mistaken, and anyone who opposes this man is accused of having 'Bush Derangement Syndrome'.
Really it's the other way around. Adherence to the idea that he can do no wrong has created in his followers a sense of hero worship usually lavished upon cult leaders. It's 'Bush Worship Syndrome'.
How bad will things have to get, how many people will have to be hurt and killed, how much money wasted on this war before these sheeple wake up and take a good, hard look at what he has done?
They're going to have to come to this realization on their own, sadly.
Because he'll never take responsibility for it himself.
And he will continue to veto or otherwise oppose every bill or proposition that goes opposite to what he's done or what he's told the sheeple to placate them. To do so would be to admit that his actions were less than kosher.
I suspect hell will become a skating rink/frozen yogurt stand first.

This is why Democrats should not be let anywhere near military policies. They only embolden our enemies. Hope you enjoy seeing more troops and civilians getting killed because that's exactly what the Democrats have set into motion. Congratulations!
