Richard Simmons has an amazing personality that really shows in his interviews and he seems like he's the type of person that would be lots of fun to live next door to, so I always liked him. Until now I hadn't tried his workouts, though, and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long.
I bought the Slim Away Everyday set awhile back (which sat around unused for a few weeks, sad to say - I have issues with exhaustion and motivation and sometimes plain old laziness). When I woke up this morning I decided today is the day. Once both the babies were at school I got going with the 80's Blast Off and had the most fun I ever had working out. It's low-impact, the routines are fun and my lack of coordination didn't keep me from getting a great workout. It's really positive too; Richard says encouraging things throughout the DVD and he's so cute and energetic it never stops being fun (and starts being punishment like most exercise videos). I tend to get bored easily, especially if the workout is extremely complicated, and I don't see that becoming an issue here. The routines are going to take some getting used to but I think I can do it and even if I can't do them perfectly, as long as I'm moving I'm benefiting, and Richard Simmons keeps the tone of things so positive and upbeat you can't help but have a good time.
I think I've finally found a program I can stick with and get real results from.
Blessed be Richard Simmons. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
