I preordered GTA4 for John as a birthday gift because he's been salivating over it and it was supposed to be available in October for the XboX 360. I got notice from Amazon two days ago that the XboX 360 release has been pushed back to June 30 of next year. John assures me it will be worth the wait. This is just a heads-up for 360 gamers who may not know yet. The PS3 versions (GTA4 & GTA4 Special Edition) will be released on October 16 as planned.
Silent Hill: Origins is due for release on October 1, and John has thoughtfully given me his latest Amazon gift certificate so I could pre-order myself a copy. He felt awful about us missing the Manson concert (which I have several times tried to reassure him I am not upset about - he can't help it if he's not feeling well *being disappointed is not the same as being angry with someone and holding them personally responsible for ruining your night*), so he was trying to make it up to me by giving me the funds to pre-order The Umbrella Chronicles, which is scheduled for a November 1 release. I think I'm just going to put that on my wish list and tell Hubbins I want a copy for xmas, because I put the money toward pre-ordering a copy of Origins for John as well. We plan on waiting for the little ones to go to sleep, putting on a horror film (Texas Chainsaw, perhaps) and getting started at the same time.
Yeah, I know. We party like no other.
I love that John and I share so many interests. He's me, only younger. And a guy.
Anyway...
The release for Origins has been pushed back as well. It was supposed to be in stores today. I logged on to my Amazon account to check shipping and saw it had been rescheduled. I hope this isn't going to be pushed back again and end up a 2008 thing like GTA4. There is much anticipatory flexing of thumbs happening here. Really. I think I can lift the VW with them now.
