10/22/2006 - Unending thirst
Posted in Unspecified

"After lifelong addictions to passion, we would gladly sacrifice sanity and security in pursuit of momentary thrill, it is difficult to forget that search for the quiver that quickens life. So we continue to hunt for the Perfect Lover, who will provide us with an escape route from inferior realities through the old tried-and-true, trial-and error method, despite our decreased patience and diminished faith."

- HOT FLASHES

Taken from one of the books I'd least likely set my eyes on, this passage had caught my attention in the most unlikely way. It was a generalized statement by the author,  I suppose, but the manner it was being told on that page I just skimmed from among the hundreds really struck me. It was more of a revelation of my life as it seems at this very moment, especially at that certain moment I flicked the page. Not only did it touch me, but it made me think how truly related this was to his life, too.

It's  amazing how man, in his pursuit of happiness, can be truly insatiable.  His quest for the ultimate fulfillment is infinite. His contentment unimaginable.

That is a really good passage and I think there is a lot of truth behind what it says.
