An article from Sunstar on Revivals...

Revivals are not only limited to music. Teleseries which had been patronized by viewers many years back are given a new lease of life with new twists and modern settings. Even hit movies were transformed into material for television.
The trend hit not only Manila, but also Cebu. The Cebuano teleseries which became a byword in 1995 and was made into a movie in 1996 bounces back to life on ABS-CBN Cebu.
Milyonaryong Mini, aired at 5 p.m. starting last Mon., Oct. 9, tapping the combined drawing powers of Manila- and Cebu-based, Visayan-speaking artists who have proven their worth in the field.
Playing significant roles are singer-dancer-actress Cherrielou Maglasang playing the role of Petra, Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition housemate Budoy playing the role of Cosme and two of Cebus more visible artists Cathy Gabrolino as Salud and Randolph Libres as Berting.
Providing stellar support are Giselle Sanchez, Juliana Palermo, Dr. Disi Alba, Brgy. Capt. Edith Cabahug of Looc, Mandaue City, and young upstarts Joey Flordeliz, Dawn Lilac Cortes, Keannu Salinas, Kathleen Escobido, Ed Visitacion, Rhyss Señoran, to name some.
Will this development make way for more revivals in Cebu? During the presscon held at the SM City Cebu Entertainment Plaza last Sun., Oct. 8, a media colleague mentioned another popular Cebuano teleseries Si Goot Da Wanderpol as another potential material.
Any takers?
