5/14/2007 - going to SUMILON.... :)

The anticipation was worth it. After a full 9-hour shift from Friday night, I had to painstakingly wait til my hubby's shift is over and yet it was a blessing in disguise. We drove from the city at exactly 8 am after the necessary things that need to be done, and got to Talisay City by 8:30 am. Knowing that the chances we would get to the boat on time for the last trip at 9 am, i texted the contact person for another possible extension and luckily the last day trip would be 11 am! Wow Thank GOD indeed! But hey, we are still like 10 towns away before reaching the port! Oh my, we would not make it.  But my optimistic husband raced himself to Carcar from Talisay for 30 mins and guess what, he made it to Carcar 2 minutes ahead of schedule!  Woah! Beat that you guys! Hehehe!!! Then we found out we still have like 6 towns to traverse to get to Sumilon  and hey"¦he unbelievably drove through them all in just an hour!!! Hahahha"¦Ceres Buss Line beat that! Toink hehhehehe"¦

The view was amazing when we got to the towns in an early morning sunshiny day"¦J I took a lot of pics"¦ of the edifices and coasts along the way, of the Ceres buses that speeded past us (we all know these are one of the fastest riding buses in this side of town) and of people on trucks notwithstanding the scorching heat of the sun. We rolled the windows down, indulging in the fresh winds of the south, and almost basking (at least for me since I wasnt driving) in the calmness of the open sea, the view of the hills, the amazing serenity of people talking in groups by the roadside"¦ah.. this is what you call the best of countryside drive! Hehehe J Thank God for the ever patient and coolest driver ever, my husband!!! JJJ  He really found a way for me to make this dream come true!!! I love you GANG!!!

We finally got to the steep pier and found out it was safe to leave Free Willy (the blue car"¦hehe) where it was parked. J Amazing! The sight of the island just a few minutes away from us was pumping my heartbeat faster and I can feel the excitement rushing into me. Of course, I would not let this chance pass me by with such a cool ambiance in the lobby and all the wooden furniture and the trees by the beach"¦ I grabbed the cam and took some shots. J

At around 10:30 am (yes we made it to the port at 10:00 on the dot! Woah! Heheh with the help of an Oslobanon woman directing us to the site) the boat finally arrived. It was only us and a family of four along with the boatmen and the freshly cooked LECHON!!!! Hmmm.. we were too hungry to think of anything else hehehehe"¦.. J

When we were near the island, yes the famous shifting sandbar came to view J and amazingly crystal clear waters nga!!! Hehe reminds me of Boracay! I knew then the adventure is about to begin.  SUMILON I am here!!!! At last nakahabol kami. Guys wait up for me!!!!
