5/1/2008 - Our English Winter
Whats an English Winter you ask?? Lord Byron says its one "Ending in July, To recommence in August." Percy Bysshe Shelly asked " If winter comes, can spring be far behind?" Our answer to that is yes. Why am I still mentioning winter?? On Tuesday and Wednesday, (4/29 & 4/30) It snowed!!! No, I'm not kidding, hell I wish I was. We only got alittle on Wednesday but we got enough to have a light covering on the ground on Tuesday. Well, anyway, enough with the snow. We have alot going on right now. My parents are having a standing seam metal roof put on the house. I found the company for them. Its Iron Horse Roofing. ( www.ironhorseroofing.com ) They have been here since about 8am and they are halfway done. By the way, It's 2:15 right now. There are 4 guys. Two of them mainly stay on the roof and the other two are cutting and shaping the metal. It's been a very loud morning. Earlier today, my dad discovered some chicken wire in the upper field where we are thinking of putting the pigs. When he went to move it he also discovered some teapots. So my mom and I went up and started digging around and we found some bottles, jars, shoes, a bicycle handle and some sort of step. I was thinking maybe it was for a tractor. It was really cool. I can't wait to dig some more. We are also getting ready to fence in the upper field. We've had to move a lot of the insulators because of the calves getting out of the other field. I guess we only measured once and now we're having to "cut twice"!! HAHA. Anywho, I guess I'm done for now!! ~SB Share and enjoy |
