    Mike Gibson, chair of the parish of cycles zoology at Michigan Technological University, has spent most of his adept life trying to better apprehend genetic metabolic disorders that arise in children. With that knowledge, he is working to develop treatments in mice--including liver-cell transplants--that could one day be used to treat a variety of liver-based illnesses in people.
