    A defining ratification of Alzheimer's disease is the accrument of the amyloid β protein (Aβ), or then known as "senile plaques," in the brain's cortex and hippocampus, where memory consolidation occurs. Researchers at the teaching hospital of California, San Diego School of antidote have identified a novel protein which, when over-expressed, leads to a histrionical raise in the generation of Aβ.
