Halloween Safety tips

1. Carry a flashlight or neon glow-stick.

2. Wear light color clothes so that you can be seen by cars.

3. Always go with an adult.

4. Trick or treat only at homes where porch light is on.

5. Don’t eat candy not in sealed wrapper.

6. Don’t eat any fruit or homemade snacks from people you don’t know, even the little old lady down the road.

7. Don’t eat any candy until a parent or adult looks at the candy.

8. Don’t wear face mask while walking down the street.

9. Face painting is safer then masks, so you see where you’re going.

10. Walk towards traffic to stay safer.

11. Goes trick r treating at dusk, not late at night.

12. Wear tennis shoes, not sandals or flip flops.

13. Don’t carry empty flames.

14. Don’t wear costumes that are too long to prevent tripping.

15. Wear reflective tape on clothing.

16. G0 to a local mall rather then door to door.

17. Make sure candles are blown out from pumpkins.

18. Check your local sex offender registry so you avoid those homes.

19.Don’t run just walk.

20. Carry a cell phone if one is available.

21. Trick treating only in a familiar area.

22. Stay on the sidewalk if there is one.

23. Avoid shoes that don’t fit properly.

24. Watch for candy that can choke young children such as peanut butter kisses and gum balls.

25. Wear costumes that are flame retardant.

26. Stay away from strange dogs.

27. Check with local hospitals for free x-raying of candy.

28. Trick treating should only be done in groups.

29. Wear clothing that covers arms and legs to prevent mosquito bites.

30. make sure costumes don’t obstruct hearing.
