I first posted these limericks in comments on SilverWind's blog. She did a few about the candidates for the US Presidency. I was immediately inspired to come up with some limericks of my own. Whether they are any good is up for debate, but it proved to be a fun rhyming exercise all the same. My political opinions are in no way reflected here, I just post this for your entertainment.

I once knew a George, who was from Texas
His one goal in life was a Lexus
He started a war
And did get his car
But the oil was cut off by the Axis

A George, at the nation's top level
Saw his lies about beating Al Gore come unraveled
God gave us souls to decide
What's wrong and what's right
George clearly sold his to the devil

A former First Lady named Hill
Decided to pass her own Bill
That was a mistake
Not even an intern would take it
In the end she just went for the kill

A senator named Barack Obama
Was commonly known as the llama
And at his campaign shows
Those in the front rows
Were in for a watery drama
