    6/30/2010 - GIRLS DO BETTER-WHY?

    Few years back, AT LEAST IN MY COUNTRY i.e. India, the girls were not allowed to leave their town, village for study/jobs purpose...Some girls ventured from south for nursing, office work etc though, and generally they lived collectively. The girls were restricted to weddings only. There was one more reason...there were not many colleges nearby their town, therefore the parents were hesitant to send them alone. The scenerio changed with the opening of more colleges in nearby towns and thereafter job opportunities for them. Still, the parents were skeptical to send their daughters alone for distant places jobs....I have a good example...one girl from my locality was selected in an officer grade. However till she got married after 6 years, her mother and sometimes her father will live with her.....

    2. Now there is great inflow of girls in towns and cities and they have learnt to stay in hostels, rental flats in a bunch. If they do not like hostel meals, they like to cook their own, even for health reasons and freedom of eating..

    3. GIRLS ARE FOUND TO BE BETTER IN TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND OFFICE OR OTHER SORT OF WORK.in comparison to the boys...Last 10 years saw the growth of more software and technical engineers, out of which 62 per cent were girls...Though these fields were dominated by boys before 10 years....People will wonder and their parents will be proud that the girls have gone far ahead in the field of research and development.
