Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves 'who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?'
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; its in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
-Marianne Williamson
I added this to my weblog today because one of my major issues is inadequacy. The enemy constantly tries to make me remember those times I didn't measure up or didn't attain a set goal. The enemy tries to have me relive those moments all day long... keep me preoccupied with my past so I cannot be effective for today or even plan for tomorrow. Today I refuse to live in the past... today I refuse to give in to the thoughts that are not even my own... today I can reflect on the past, see mistakes and blunders, see achieved goals, successes, failures, and almosts... and learn from them without giving in to the feelings attatched to them. When we are able to do this we are truly free from inadequacy... being totally secure in the knowledge that we are not perfect, and never will be. Thank you Lord for knowing the true me, the imperfect me and still love me unconditionally... help me to love myself the same. In Your Holy Name. Amen. p.h.
Let us journey on... freely...
