• 11/20/2011 - Studying will probably be Nurse
This semester is Peds and OB. I appreciate my instructors sofar (though nobody needs the spot of Instructor Fantastic during my heart).
I am a little pissed off because I'm the need to require a statistics class. It's not at all so bad per se, although i already took Stat being math class in Houston. But does the varsity want that credit? Noooo, want to Psychology Statistics. I've fought and pleaded. I've motivated to make a test, but with no success! Basically I'm paying them money by sitting around and re-learn things I've already mastered. What's even better, I've found that quite a few nurses are none-to-bright about math, in addition to the pace of study is agonizingly slow when compared to the first go-round. Let's hope I would not go crazy. ^_^;;
I'm working being tech within PCU. I'd never really considered PCU being starting point for a nursing career, however it's progressively more appealing regularly. First, individual ratio is less than Med-Surg, nonetheless patients aren't quite as critical just as the ICU. Secondly, a medical facility has an interest in "cross-training" people in ICU and ER skills to help provide more techniques for "floating" extra staff additional low census. Thirdly, I recommend the bottom I'm on, and wouldn't mind utilizing these individuals inside a larger capacity.
I've been a whole lot more fascinated with critical care than anything else, mostly because I'm not really too keen on children or surgical procedures or other snack food. . i need to be with a place that may challenge me and make me in this little toes. Still keeping my options open, however it looks similar to this hospital has accomplished it's own goals by recruiting me for this purpose job: getting me at ease this facility and reeling me in for employment after graduation.
We'll observe things succeed lake graduate. Plainly don't fall into Texas, This particular I wind up exactly where Now i'm.
Tomorrow Let me spend clinicals in Labor and Delivery. I reaallly hope girl arrives while in the time that I am there, because I'm sure prefer that will probably be considerably more exciting than just getting together with a female moaning in labor for 8 hours. o_O
Taken two tests sofar. When i made a b - regarding the second one! (I'd almost forgotten what felt to bring about A's on big tests utilizing this funky grading scale!) My extra preparation is paying. I'm making time for them to read the chapters before lecture and residing at least 2 hours afterwards inside the library for review. And that works. (Well... except if your question for you is vague or weird. That is not my problem.)
I seriously genuinely wish to be successful this semester so i could increase those decimals following your 3 within my nursing gpa. I have to be inducted into Sigma Theta Tau! They only take the upper percent on the class, i can't say for sure what my it is likely that. Should i keep making Almost like, maybe they'll improve. ^_^

• 11/20/2011 - Whatever Find Becoming Nurse
I've thought to post the teachings I study on my patients as i am in
my clinicals. Hopefully, I don't cash to tell you in this region, because
eachtime I practice a lesson, it probably means something bad has
happened to my opinion.
Lesson 1: If your elderly patient is even on a feeding tube and her
stomach is distended (2x its normal size), by looking at change her
diaper, roll her butt Clear of you. Sudden movements results in quite a lot of
that increased gas to escape quickly, and also do not want to stay in the
kind of fire.
Lesson 2: It is often wise to look into the bulletin board to
see what your patients consume in the week. Put on paper any
days they would be served peanuts or corn, and assure you contact
sick the morning after that meal.
Lesson 3: The cute little old ladies are those that yell to you the loudest.
Lesson 4: In spite of how grossed out you may be by needles, fail to close
astigmatism when giving someone for example injection. Particularly when
you will be practicing finger pricks with regards to your friends. They get mad in case you
almost poke them inside of the fingernail as opposed to from the pad and health of their
finger. Sorry Danielle!!
