7/27/2008 - Elite XC - Thomas Denny vs. Nick Diaz
Posted in Unspecified

I must admit that Nick Diaz is my favorite fighter. He may not be the best fighter in mma but, the kid is technical and he puts on one hell of a show.

Saturday night, the Elite XC fight promotion pitted these guys against each other and mainstream America was treated to an entertaining fight. Overcoming the weight issues of his previous fights Nick Diaz not only made weight but he came in at 1lb. under.

In the first round both fighters exchanged heavy leather and Thomas Denny was defiantly holding his own. But as the fight progressed the superior boxing of Nick Diaz began to take it´s toll. At the end of the first round Denny was really shaky.

In the second round, Nick Diaz KO´d Denny.

With all of the shit talking that occurred between the two fighters, I began to wonder if the fight would live up to the hype. IT DID.

Here is some of the shit talking.

7/25/2008 - Anthony Johnson Robbed with TKO Loss to Kevin Burns
Posted in Unspecified

I´ve seen many questionable decisions in my day but the last UFC fight night had to be the worst I have ever seen. Anthony "Rumble" Johnson and Kevin Burns put on a very good show. The fight remained competitive and action packed but that I poke was outrageous. However, the TKO call by Steve Mazagati was even more outrageous.

I´ll be back with more details about the fallout from this very controversial decision.

Anthony Johnson has decided to appeal the outcome of the fight. More than a few people who witnessed the fight believed that the decision was complete bullshit. There was booing from the crowd after the decision was announced.

However, I feel that the real shame is that Kevin Burns repeatedly and flagrantly poked him in the eye. The strikes were open hand blows directly to the eye. As a matter of fact Anthony Johnson underwent surgery to repair damage to his retina. Props to Johnson for the way that he carried himself throughout the ordeal. He showed real class.

BTW, here is a picture of Anthony´s eye after the fight.
