KIMI WINS INTERNATIONAL RACING DRIVER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Kimi Raikkonen was crowned International Racing Driver of the Year ahead of Fernando Alonso at last night's prestigious Autosport Awards, which is voted for by readers of the magazine.
The Finn attended the event in London to collect the trophy, which was presented by former World Champion Nigel Mansell.
On receiving his award, Kimi discussed his highlights of the year, "I guess all the wins for sure. The Japanese Grand Prix was one of the great moments, and Monaco was a good place to win. It could have been better this season but I am happy. It is always exciting to fight, and of course we wanted to win, but that is part of the game - and still it was one of the best years for me in Formula One."

Kimi Raikkonen may have lost the world championship to Fernando Alonso but he is piling up the post-season accolades.
Having been voted Driver of the Year by the readers of F1 Racing magazine, Raikkonen received the coveted International Racing Driver of the Year trophy at the Autosport Awards on Sunday evening.
McLaren boss Ron Dennis´ pride was compounded when his team scooped the Racing Car of the Year award for the devastatingly effective Adrian Newey-designed MP4-20.
Renault´s engineering chief Pat Symonds won the John Bolster Award for a lifetime of technical achievement in motorsport, while Tiago Monteiro was voted Rookie of the Year by autosport.com readers.
Asked by host Steve Rider to select the highlights of his season, Raikkonen said: "I guess all the wins, for sure. The Japanese GP was one of the great moments; also Monaco was a good place to win.
"It could have been better this season but it could have been an awful lot worse...so I am happy.
"It is always exciting to fight, but of course we wanted to win and it was not such a good time when you do well and things do not go right.
"But that is part of the game - and still it was one of the best years for me in Formula 1."
