5/21/2008 - Don't believe everything you see
Posted in Unspecified

I have been getting alot nonsence email saying that I win this and that. Worst is that some sites which I never signed up they comes the email telling me about their newsletter.

Which email account are you using? Are they all the same?

I am trying to blog as much as I can and at the same time to delete as much spam email as more often as possible. Do you know that if you didn't check email for a day, you get dozens of spam email. Some with attracting title to lure you read their email. Best to do is just delete them knowing that these are spam.

Have anyone ever reply to such scam or spam email? Any feedback from them?

I use to get e-mail allegedly from e-bay asking about my e-bay account, when I never once had an e-bay account and never use e-bay for anything.

I used to get lots of those, really dozens if not a hundred a day. I closed my email addresses, and opened new ones. I have five email addresses now, four of which are well-protected. No unwanted emails get thru. The fifth one is the one I use when I have to leave an email address on a public place.

I can give you one tip, which should come in handy when you have to leave your email address on a public page, where you can add some text as well (usually if you're advertising). If your email address is, let's say, sherry@hotmail.xx, and you want to advertise with the inclusion of the email, add a word. Something like sherryyellow@hotmail.xx.

Right beneath it you should write that people who want to email you should delete the color from the address. That way spam robots can't email you, only people who really read your ad can.

If you have to leave an address somewhere, and you don't need to verify your identity thru an email, or expect any useful email, you can just leave the following: sherry@temporaryinbox.com. You'll never hear anything.

Oh, on the address I use for spam, I won free passes into Disney world, in Orlando, today.
