Titanium is set to be present and derived from igneous rocks present below the earth’s surface. It is produced in industries commercially by reducing its chloride with magnesium. Titanium as an element, is much stronger than steel but has very less density. It also has lower stiffness than in many structured materials such as aluminium alloys and carbon fibre and other tensile kind of steel sheet. They can oxidize immediately when given exposure to air. Also it has very high reactivity to outside gases like oxygen, nitrogen etc. Undoubtedly, it has excellent corrosion resistance, but when subjected to concentrated acids like sulphuric acid or hydrochloric acid, it will react negatively and can even cause melting in extreme situations.
