Advantages of LED Lights The best thing about these lights is that their energy consumption level is extremely low. There lifespan is believed to be of around 50,000 hours. They can best be used for spotlighting due to their directional distribution. Its light molecules are direct in a particular direction and do not lose any energy. These lights have the potential to defy thermal shocks and vibrations. They also do not emit any infrared lighting. They also help the environment by not emitting UV rays. These are far safer than normal lights because they do not have any mercury in them. You no longer have to worry yourself out about getting burnt or having to turn off the lights half an hour before changing them as these tend to be cool to the touch. From anywhere on the light spectrum, these have the ability to make amazing colored lights. Disadvantages The major drawback of LED lights is that they are available in a very limited variety. Not being readily available in smaller towns makes them a bit hard to get too. What’s worst is that being expensive has made them out of reach of common people. You can also not use them for residential flood lighting as that would require extra equipment. Moreover, the color quality of colored lights is not good. These lights are really beneficial to be use at home and they also assist you in helping the environment. With their usage you would just have to pay 50 cents for using a reading lamp for 12 years each day for a whole year. Most amazingly, you would never have to replace the bulb. However, considering that they light they give off is very directional, you would need quite a few of them pointing in different directors to light up your rooms. So all in all, LED lights have their own advantages and disadvantages. You would need to go through both of them to decide whether you really want to use them or not.
