I had to go to Nick's school first thing yesterday. He has been there just a few days and now look what is happening. He is already getting into trouble. His teacher (who is cute as a button) says she thinks he is ADHD (ya think I mean look who he is related to?!) and maybe it would help if I work with him at home or got him on some meds to help with these problems. That is so like putting the cat in charge of the bird. Could ya see it now..."Bub come here and let's see who will lose their focus first." It would be like a staring contest neither of us could ever win. And as for medicating him, uuuuuuummmmmmm NO!!! He is not old enough to make those kind of decisions and I cannot make them for him. It is different to medicate yourself than it is to medicate the kids. It is not my choice to make him into a zombie. Now if he said it was making him crazy and could I get him some help with it, by all means we would go off and get him some but until that day it is not my call. Well instead of that we (meaning they) have him seeing the school shrink. He likes her (he called her a girl and even said she was cute) and doesn't mind talking to her. Well apparently this is working for him because today he got to move away from the teachers desk. And I didn't get a bad letter yesterday or today. |
