God and Santa
| The MLB was talking about a toy that was on the TV and she was telling me she wants it for Christmas which lead us to the conversation that sounded like it came straight outta me. She tells me that Santa is "up there" with God and all I can think is "Exactly!" I know I have said this repeatedly though not in the same way and never in front of her, but for her to say it too was a little errie! I swear that kid gets a little more like me everyday. And I am not sure I am ready for it by any means. Here is what I tend to say about the whole God thing and tell me if you think it is almost the same as what she said, the only difference is that she believes in both of them while I do not. I do not believe in things I can not see. I was a child once and I believed in God but that was when I believed in Santa. I do not believe in Santa anymore...I learned he exsists only in the spirit of people. The same with God...He doesn't exsist in Himself, He exsists in the aspect of people believing in Him and it makes them be better. That is it. I do not believe there is some Divine Being "out there" where ever waiting on us to die and take our souls. How can that be possible? Another question about this, which I may have asked before but I am going to ask again because I have yet to get an answer from anyone, God fearing or not. Either way, I would just like outside opinions, please! Here is the question... If there is a Hell, why are we scared of it? I mean the physical part is dead so there can not be physical pain. The emotional part may be there but the only thing I can think of would be eternal heartbreak. The problem with that is the fact that it would be like in life, eventually the pain will wear off or you will adjust to it...after that happens it can't hurt you anymore, right? Or at least not as bad I would figure... Hmmm...well I really don't know. If anyone has any of the answers or wants to make a guess at it please tell me...I won't critisize I promise! I am really wanting an outside opinion of the whole thing. There are so many religions I am sure I could get many different aspects. |
