The parent teacher thingy
Nick is doing so well in school. A lot better than I thought he was doing. He seems to be struggling when he is here, mostly because he never wants to do homework. And most of his grades in math so far have looked like they were close to failing. But when I got there, the teacher tells me he is making A's and B's. Well an A (in reading) and the rest were B's. He is above average in his reading and, as Ri said, as long as he can read, he can learn anything. He is still getting in a little bit of trouble (mostly for talking in the hall and walking up to her desk when he isn't suppose to) but it is nothing like at the begining of the year. He only got two checks this week and they were both yesterday. Other than that, he has stayed out of trouble the whole week. My little man is a pure genius in the making, not that I want to make him one. That would be way too much pressure I believe! Jay is doing really well too. She is adjusting to being in class. She is starting to talk to the other kids and even to her teachers a little. She can identify a lot of her letters and numbers (which is more than most of the kids in her class). She seems so happy when she gets home from school that I really think this was the best thing for her. Ok maybe not the best thing for me, but I couldn't keep her a baby forever even though I wanted to. She is right on or slightly above the level she is suppose to be for her age. I must be doing something right with them for them to both come out as these mostly good, mostly smart kids, right? |
