Last week was the longest week ever and I was almost sure I wasn't going to make it through it. I am not saying it was bad by any means (with the exception of peeling vinyl from huge boards) it was just tiring. I was so sore and bruised and cut up from all the clumsy showing through at work, but it kept my mind and my hands busy enough that I didn't wander too far into the areas I ought not but thinking about for long periods of time. With the kids gone for the whole week, I knew I might wanna get outta the house before I get myself (and a few other people) into too much trouble by being left unsupervised. So I went down and talked to the big man about coming in last week. At first he said no (he has to pay me cash, no tax write off for him) but after reviewing the work to be done, he agreed!!!! It worked out well for all involved. I get to do the grunt work because I am the newest one and the youngest (not because they all hate me like I origionally thought) so no one else has to strain themselves. I get to get paid for being in my own world listening to music as long as my hands stay busy. They get to have all the things they need to get out into the real world done on time due to the extra set of hands. And I got to be outta the house instead of at home wondering about the ways of the world all by myself for ten hours a day. And I now have the money to take the boy to his karate lessons tonight. He is excited about it and I am happy that I made it to the deadline without falling short.
