Thanksgiving: - So Lyn did a good job cooking the turkey and our Thanksgiving dinner was great! We forgot the Stove Top stuffing though, but we had all the other trimming. The 10lb turkey, 5lbs of mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean caserole, rolls/buns, cheese/crackers/peperonni, olives, cranberry jelly (canned), pumpkin pie with cool whip, and strawberry-rubarb pie. It was just us too - Lyn, Mariel, Aidan, Jim, Olivia, and I. It was quaint, quiet, relaxing, and very cosy. - Have to say that this was the best Thanksgiving ever!
Black Friday: - Olivia, Jim and I went to Jim's grandmother's house for dinner. Same food - Thanksgiving meal, but we also had stuffing and squash. Jim's Grandma, his Aunt Brenda, his Unlcle David (and his wife), as well as Jim's cousin Toby and his son David were all there along with Jim, his dad, his stepmom, Olivia and I. - Lots of people. I still feel kind of out of place with them, but they're not my family. So I guess it's kind of expected. It'll take a few years to get fully comfortable with everyone. Olivia was good though! Rock on Baby O! - Jim's Grandma gave him a Christmas card because we probably won't make it back up there for Christmas. Jim wants to use the money to help for a downpayment to an apartment. He wants to move out of here soon. I'll elaborate more about this in the section: "There is a Season." - Lyn, the kids, and Grandma went to my cousin Linda's for their Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks to Stacie, we all drew names for who to buy gifts for. I have to buy for Ethan (Stacie's son) as well as for my cousin J and his girl Carrie. Lyn has Autum and Grandma. - Never ever go shopping on Black Friday! Parking lots are hell. Seriously, people will follow anyone walking out of the store and wait for them to get in their car. Can't move, can't breathe, can't shop unless you've got the 'gusto' personality.
There is a Season: - Onward we go. Jim is anxious to get a place of our own. I still want to talk to Lyn about it, but haven't had a chance to since the kids are around this weekend. (Hint: Lyn if you read this, I'll be talking to you about this soon) - I still haven't gotten paid yet from AIG. I think it's too soon, since I want to get things paid and under my belt. Jim's paying Lyn $200/month and I can start pitching in for the other bills. He likes this one place he looked at, $460/month for a 2 bedroom. He was telling me about it and says it's the best he think we can get for the size. - I need to buy tires for the truck, pay Maria for watching Baby O (back pay and start paying her current so I owe her like $250 or so), and Jim needs to get his car fixed and inspected. Seems like money is a hot commodity around here and there isn't enough to go around. Esspecially since its the cold season. - Gotta run, because I should study. I'll probably elaborate more on this at a later date. |
