Yayasan IDEP is a small, local NGO based in Ubud, Bali that focuses on community empowerment through the development and dissemination of appropriate curriculum and media, training, and implementation of strategically-targeted programs.

Background :

IDEP has been involved in disaster response and recovery efforts in Aceh since December 2006. In May 2005, IDEP established the Greenhand Field School in the village of Lamsujen, Lhoong, to provide intensive training for farmers, community members, NGOs and others in permanent sustainable agriculture techniques that assist people to generate food security through sound environmental practice. In March 2006, IDEP began its Integrated Recovery Program in Samatiga, Aceh Barat, which delivers a combination of community health services, environmental rehabilitation and livlihood recovery, and support for small enterprise development to the seven villages that comprise the Samatiga region.

IDEP is looking for a committed environmentalist with extensive program management experience to manage our Aceh field programs. The successful candidate will have experience in working in field conditions and overseeing a small team of dedicated program support staff. The initial focus of the manager will be to manage and develop the GHFS program, in conjunction with IDEP and its partner organisation in this program, Green Camp, a local Acehnese NGO. The manager will have two support staff to work with, including an Admin and Field officer. The Manager will work with and report to the department manager, based in Bali.

Key responsibilities:

· field management of IDEP´s Greenhand Field School program

· overseeing the implementation of all Greenhand project components and making sure the program meets all goals and guidelines

· reporting to BRR and all official representation related to this project

· development and management of Greenhand program team

· Aceh field office and program budget management

· developing proposals and managing grant applications for this program, in conjunction with Department coordinator

· liaising with relevant government agencies, NGO´s and community organisations related to program needs

· monthly reporting to IDEP

Qualifications :

• A demonstrated commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and environmental revitalisation
• Minimum 2 years previous work experience with a non governmental organisation or government related program

• Minimum 2 years previous project management experience
• Minimum preferred education S1
• Preference given to persons with work related experience in Aceh or Acehnese language skills
• Experience in project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, preferably in Indonesia
• Demonstrated previous experience in project management or experience in similar projects preferred
• Fluent English and Bahasa Indonesia
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Excellent organization skills

Salary  : Rp. 3 500 000 - 6 000 000/ month depending on skills and experience
