Well, to let all know why I started this blog.

I have loved collecting rocks every since I was young - er. I would carry in pieces of quartz from the backyard and pretend they were diamonds. Over the years - getting married, raising kids and so on I still collected a few stones and unusual pieces of wood and so on. Now, I have the time to really do what I have always enjoyed. The added bonus is that I can collect "better" rocks. I am learning as I go and want to hear from all rock/gemstone lovers that are trying to manuver thru the tons of info on gemstones. I enjoy making pieces of jewelry with some of the stones, I enjoy just looking at some. I know there are others who enjoy the same.

Let's create a great info blog for the beginner - intermediate rock hound.

How about we start with the new stone(flavor) of the day - Paraiba Tourmaline and Andesine Labradorite.

I have several andesine, but as far as I can tell with my limited knowledge do not have a paraiba.

On my way into work today I started wondering why it seems so many of the new cars don't have turn signals. I mean, that must be the case because you don't see many being used. I haven't bought a new car in a while so I guess I am missing out on the savings of not having them added to the sticker price. Any thoughts??
