12/29/2025 - LG Optimus Android Handset Review
Posted in Unspecified

When folks think of a smartphone, the last company they think of is LG; nonetheless, LG is slowly becoming a competitor. Together with Google's new operating system, LG along with other manufacturers are producing their own smartphones using the Android technology. Virtually all Android phones come with numerous high end specifications, but the LG's version does not. Even so, that has not stopped the phone from attracting a lot of attention from the press. One of the main reasons this phone is not as high end as others is so they can offer the phone at a more low-cost price, making it possible for everyone to be able to buy one.

A fantastic feature is the fact that this Android phone from LG still looks like an Android phone, while a few features are not there the look remains the same. While other Android phones are a little bit larger than the LG's version, the fact that the Android phone from LG is a bit smaller is something that many users like. It is multi touch enabled which is great for certain applications and going through the interface. Multi touch is normally only available on the high priced phone, so it is pleasant to have this feature on this less costly alternative. The 320 by 480 resolution is great for average DVD quality movies to be played back and luckily DivX and XivD support is provided out of the box. While you can upgrade this Android phone from LG itself to 32GB through the card slot, when you get the phone it just has 170 MB of memory. You will get a 2 GB card with the purchase of your phone. Combined with the 3.5mm standard audio jack, you can already build up a modest mp3 collection without spending extra money.

And of course, this phone has WIFI and Bluetooth which comes with all the LG smartphones. The latest LG smartphone even has an integrated GPS receiver with A-GPS and a digital compass. Navigating through the interface is quite user-friendly in both portrait and landscape modes, thanks to the on-screen QWERTY keyboard and the accelerometer allows these two views to be changed easily. In addition, this LG Android phone comes with the ever popular 3G technology. Furthermore, you will never have to struggle again trying to hear things because the actual speaker is a really good quality.

There are some drawbacks to the LG Optimus One P500 Android handset, but nothing that would not make you want to get it anyhow. The smartphone's camera comes up a bit short with 3 mega pixels to work with but it does have auto focus, geotagging, and face detection support. Despite the fact that Android Froyo is installed, the phone lacks Adobe Flash support but the social networking integration is still pretty good on the connectivity side. Editing documents can slow down the phone due to the processor; still, everything else is right up to speed.

The LG Optimus One P500 Android handset is one good Android device and functions as a fantastic transition phone to the smartphone world. This LG Android phone is also a good learning phone. You will be able to learn about all the features the Android phones have and will be able to see if later on you may need a more expensive phone with additional features in the future. However, you may decide that this LG Android smartphone itself is ideal for all your needs.
