Lasallian Citizen Watch
1. In your few weeks of stay in De La Salle, can you identify one area of concern that affects the quality of life in your school? ---> I am concerned about the system they have when it comes to students with failed subjects. When a student fails at least one subject, he/she would have to be the last to enroll for the succeeding terms. I don't think that this would help the student to catch up with his/her batchmates. The student is already behind, so how can they catch up when they have to be the lsat to enroll? It seems as if this is a punishment to the students whom have failed. They would just be left behind more since when they enroll, the subjects they want to take either has no open section or the schedule they prefer would not be put into use. This system does not do any good to the student and it only becomes another burden fpr them.
2. What is your proposed solution to this problem? ---> At present, the 1st honor dean's listers have the advance enrolment, then the 2nd honor dean's listers and "regular" srtudents (students wiho have not failed any subject) enroll next, and last comes the "irregular" students (students who failed at least one subject). I propose that the 1st and 2nd honor dean's listers combine and get included for the advance enrolment, and next to enroll wiould be the "irregular" students who would enroll the same time everyone else does. It would only be a question if you are a dean's lister or not. If you are, then you get advance enrolment. If you're not a DL, then you enroll with the rest of the students. It would help the irregular students to cope up with their academics and it would be less complicated for all.
3. As an active citizen in De La Salle, what do you commit yourself to do so that the school would become an ideal school? ---> I would commit myself to following the rules and policies of the university. An ideal school would of course have students who is aware of the policies and regulations of the school. So I commit myself into following these regulations. For change to take place in the university, it would have to start from the individual students in the university. The change must start in me, I must be an ideal student so that the university can be an ideal school.
