Career (Artistic view)

At present, I would want to pursue a career in SPED (Special Children Education). These are the type of people I think I would work and interact with in my career. First is children who are handicapped. They have special needs and special care has to be given to them. Like the girl in the picture, she is in a wheelchair. I too would want to be the girl who is pushing her. I want to help her get to where she wants to go.

This girl may just be sleeping in class, but this can also be a type of child I would interact with in the future. I would not only deal with children with psychologcal or physical disorders. Children who are too naughty or too lazy can also be my students. These children don't act normally in school, either they sleep all the time, would bully others, be too loud, or just sits in the class and do nothing. Just because these children don't have any psychological disorders or disabilitites doesn't mean that they do not need special attention.

ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a behavioral disorder wherein the child acts without thinking and has trouble with focusing and paying attention. I know that if I pursue in SPED, I would come in contact with these children. Their disorder may seem normal for children since kids are very playful and love to roam around. However, to take care of a child with ADHD would be stressful. Since the symptoms last for a longer period of time.

-->> When I was young, I wanted to be a pediatrician. As I reached high school, I wanted to be a lawyer. And now I kind of want to be a teacher. So when I took up BS-Psychology, I wondered what career would I pursue in since my course could be a pre-course for all these fields. So I thought of teaching special children. In this way, I could combine the fields I want into one career. I empathize a lot and these children need someone to guide them. They still need to go to school so that they would be able to live a normal life. I want to make them feel that despite their disabilities and disorders, they could still reach their dreams, they could still go on with life. I chose to teach children because I know that children are very emotional and love to be taken care of. I adore children and would love to have a career which involves these blessings from God.
