(Thank you for the comments on my little poem. Here's a bigger poem for ya: This was written for a webpage that posts peoples poems, art, and short stories and has a different theme each month. The theme I wrote for was called "The Darker Side Of The Mind")
On one good morning In the city of L.A. A boy recieved a puppy For his 2nd birthday He laughed with joy As the puppy played The boy only wished If that moment stayed
In the kitchen The puppy in need The boy would laugh As he gave him feed But the dog did not stop For his mind told him not And he recieved too much From his master the tot
So much in fact The pup did vomit And flop to the ground All this the boy saw it He prodded with his finger And wept as he said "Wake up little goggy... Please don't be dead"
Time passed by The boys now a man 30 years to the day He forgot as best he can And now he had friends Family and wealth A two car garage And also his health
He got many presents He opened them all Now ready for pie But his wife did call "Why heres one you missed It was under the table" "From your loving children" It said on the label
He tore into it quickly Excited to see Just what the hell This thing could be From inside the box It bagan to shake He backed up a moment Afraid twas a snake
But out from the box Poked an adorable head It looked at the man And quietly said "Bark bark, sniff sniff" "Whine" and "ruff" "Grr" and "whimper" And "howl" and stuff
Suddenly in the man Something awoken inside He began to sweat And go wide-eyed He screamed so loud The guests did gasp He reached for his present A hammer he did clasp
And down it came swiftly On the young little thing Again and again The man did swing Until there was nothing But bloody dog pulp His friends left the room And his wife did gulp
"Honey?" She asked With tears in her eye And he smiled and said "I'm better now, how 'bout that pie."
