Well, a while back, I had contacted some university presses about doing some freelance editing work for them. I only received a couple of replies. One reply came just last week, months after my initial contact. I took an editing test for them this week, as I had done for another university press a few months ago. I never heard anything after that first test, so I guess I didn't pass. I failed the one I took this past week, too. So I guess I'm not as good of an editor as I always thought I was. It's probably a good thing, then, that I am studying librarianship for a potential change in careers. Maybe I will be a better librarian than I am an editor... Oh well, I'm so busy now, between school and working three jobs, I guess it's just as well that I don't try to do freelance work on top of all that. So maybe failing the editing tests is for the best. |
