Recently heard about a crazy product called chilli chocolate, don't know if it exists or its just someone's imagination running wild. But all the same it got me to thinking. The product if it does exist, would be so much like life.
Chilli, being a bitter ingredient would have to signify the heartbreaks, disappointments, loosing loved ones and hardships that we undergo in our day to day lives.
Chocolate on the other hand, would signify finding that someone special, falling in love, landing a new better paying job and all the sweet and good times we have had in our lives.
Life, like chilli chocolate, is so full of sweet memories interlaced with some bitterness sprinkled within and carefully wrapped with smooth packaging of pretence.
Pretence in the sense that most of us spend so much time trying to be someone/something we are not so as to impress others. Low self esteem or lack of confidence or just trying to adapt to society? Go figure!

We so much spend our lifetimes complaining, with all the bitterness we can muster, about the hardships and problems that we undergo and yet we fail to see all the beauty that surrounds us. The kind of beauty that is found within the depths of the souls of those who care about us, the beauty of touching someone's life and most of all, the beauty of being alive.
Isn't it ironic how such a simple thing, such as chilli chocolate, can make us be appreciative of life and being alive?
Spread the love around, for after all is said and done, just like the chilli chocolate, we only live once.
