"The Threshing Floor - October 12, 2007: The Great Rebellion-Witness To
Apostacy with Bernard Pyron
Posted October 15th, 2007 by Randy Maugans

Bernard Pyron was a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology working in the field
of experimental social and environmental psychology. While at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison he met and worked with Dr. Carl Rogers
, one of the fathers of the humanistic psychology movement.

Bernard was also part of the New Culturethe
avante-garde bohemian
art movement, working in pottery and ceramicsuntil he was
vomited
out. He also worked in the bureacracy of the state mental health
system and around 1978 repented for being part of the erosion of the
culture.

After gradually coming to an understanding of Christ and embracing the
cross, Bernard authored the book The Great
Rebellion(1985) , which
surveyed the popular culture of 1962-85 and its Christian
versions.
Now, lamentably, out of printthat book detailed HOW the Christian
church embraced self-help psychology, new age thought, and the culture
of selfishness.

Join us for a whirlwind tour of the great culture clash of the
mid-60s to the 80s, through the eyes of a man who
witnessed, first
hand, the leavening of mainstream Christianity and the backwash into
the mainstream culture.

Topics: The Art Bohemian movement, surrealism, the Frankfurt School,
Theodore W. Adorno, The Beatles, Herbert Marcuse, C.H.
Maslow-hierarchy of needs, Ehrich Fromme, Carl Rogers,
needs
fulfilment and the culture of self, the sexual liberation movement,
self actualization, the New Left, early roots of Zionism, the
corruption of the gentile race and culture while preserving the Jewish
race and culture, Cyrus Scofield-supported by American industrialists,
the new age occult movement, Alice Bailey, Aleister Crowley, Jack
Parsons and Jet PropulsionLaboratories, L. Ron Hubbard, origins of the
right wing movement and the modern day neo-cons, overt sins vs. sins
of the mind, Christian culture leavened by the
emergence of new age
occult."

Find the same link there at the bottom of the page and it may work.
Note: Randy said I have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. Thats not
true. In fact, on the broadcast I said I have a Ph.D. in experimental
psychology.

Second Note: Randy refers to the anti-war movement of the late
sixties, especially at the University of Wisconsin, as the "hippie
anti-war movement. It is true that students who acted like hippies
took part in that movement. But it was not led by "hippies" The
leaders were leftists and more intellectuals than hippies, and at
Wisconsin there was a core group of two or three thousand leftists who
really were not hippies who went to the demonstrations and marched in
the streets.
"They Marched Into Sunlight" is a  2003 book by journalist  David
Maraniss which is about the
Battle of Ong Thanh in the Viet-Nam war and an anti-war protest at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison which is known as the Dow
Demonstration in October of 1967.  I got there late and did not see
the  students in the front line standing firm against the police who
were beating them over the head with clubs.
