The Importance of Freemasonry In Texas - 4:54 PM, 9/12/2009 |
The Importance of Freemasonry In Texas Bernard Pyron I lived in Wisconsin for 22 years and never heard anything good or bad about Masons there. Here in Missouri, I am aware of one Masonic lodge in the town only a mile and a half from me. But no one here seems to be much interested in Freemasonry as far as I can tell. But Freemasoney appears to be more important in Texas. I know that historians affirm that Sam Houston and some of his officers in the Texas Army were Masons, as were some of the leaders of the men who fought in the Alamo, such as Davy Crockett. Mexican General Santa Anna, who was captured at San Jacinto by the Texas army, was also a Mason. Yet I have heard the claim that most of the men who died in the Alamo were Masons. I have been away from Texas for many years, but I am reminded from time to time of the significance of Freemasonry in that state. Only since about 1995 when I became interested in so-called patriot short wave broadcasting did I hear about the Masons and other secret societies which tend to be, at their higher levels, organizations of the ruling elite and also the much larger ruling class of lawyers, CEOs, doctors, government bureaucrats, elected officials, etc. In addition, Remnant Christianity, represented by Christian Media network, was also found on short wave in the mid-nineties and now on Internet radio. Remant Christianity teaches that Freemasonry is occultic and not Christian at all. After learning what Freemasonry is, I remembered that many of the businessmen in the town in South Bexar county, Texas where I grew up were Masons, including my father. When I was younger and still there, I did not know of the importance of being a Mason in Texas, nor did my father talk about his being one. Here is what the Online Handbook of Texas says on Texas Masons: http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/articles/FF/vnf1.html "Between 1838 and 1845 the Texas Grand Lodge issued charters to twenty-one more lodges, and membership increased from seventy-three to 357. In addition, there were probably some 1,100 Masons from other jurisdictions living in Texas at this time. Although constituting only 1½ percent of the population, Masons filled some 80 percent of the republic's higher offices. All of the presidents, vice presidents, and secretaries of state were Masons. After annexationqv Masons continued to be equally prominent in the state government, and between 1846 and 1861 five of the six governors were members of the fraternity. Masonry continued to prosper; by 1860 Texas had 226 active lodges and 9,000 members." On http://www.godonthe.net/cme/links/masons.htm they list about 22 Christian denominations that oppose Masonry. The Southern Baptist Convention is not in this list. But one site on the Internet claiming to be Southern Baptist does oppose Freemasonry. http://freemasonrywatch.org/holly.html "This is the document that was mailed to 5,000 Southern Baptist Ministers and Church Leaders that resulted in the ground breaking passage of an Official SBC Doctrinal Statement in 1993 that Freemasonry was incompatable with Christianity and Southern Baptist Doctrine." The Southern Baptist Convention and Freemasonry, By James L. Holly, M.D. Holly says "Many fear addressing the issue of the Lodge, and without the power of the Blood and of the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ well they ought to fear "taking on" the allies of the Devil. The problem of Freemasonry will not be solved by a vote of the Southern Baptist Convention, this year or any year. Yet, without the Convention voting to declare Freemasonry an evil which must be removed from the church, the problem will not be solved. The vote is not the solution; it is only the begining of the solution." Going on, Holly says that "The first Masonic book to be examined is *Lightfoot's Manual of the Lodge -- Texas. The edition which is quoted is copyrighted by the Grand Lodge of Texas Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, 1934. The memorial to this book concludes with the statement: "This is to certify that Lightfoot's Manual of the Lodge was approved and adopted as the official manual or monitor of the Grand Lodge of Texas, A.F.& A.M. and its subordinate Lodges, by a resolution adopted December 5,1934." The preface to this edition further states: "A section has been added, entitled 'Commentaries' which is designed to present in condensed form, additional light on our ancient rites, forms, symbols and ceremonies. The commentaries are largely compiled from the standard works of the best Masonic scholars, including Mackey, Pike, Bromwell, Oliver, Preston, Webb, Tannehill, Higgens and others.." Every Mason in Texas has this book in his home. The most recent edition of the Monitor* which was adopted in the late 1980's eliminated the commentaries section because it revealed too much about the truth of Freemasonry. This book establishes Albert Mackey and Albert Pike as "the best Masonic scholars." Albert Pike's book, Morals and Dogma is online. Apparently the entire book can be found at: http://www.sacred-texts.com/mas/md/index.htm If you want to know about Freemasons, this is one major source on them. In Morals and Dogma, Albert Pike stated: "All truly dogmatic religions have issued from the Kaballa and return to it; everything scientific and grand in the religious dreams of all the illuminati, Jacob Boeheme, Swedenborg, Saint Martin, and others, is borrowed from the Kaballa; ALL MASONIC ASSOCIATIONS OWE TO IT THEIR SECRETS AND SYMBOLS." (p.744 of Pike's Morals and Dogma) " http://www.cuttingedge.org/free002.html to Albert Pike, page 102, "Morals and Dogma", "The true name of Satan, the Kabalists say, is that of Yahveh reversed; for Satan is not a black god, but the negation of God. The Devil is personification of Atheism and Idolatry. For the initiates, this is not a Person, but a Force, created for good, but which may serve for evil." Pike again refers to the "Infinite God" as "the mighty cosmic force" on Page 707. Albert Pike says on Page 321 of Morals and Dogma that "Lucifer, the Light Bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of Darkness. Lucifer, the Son of the Morning! Is it he who bears the light, and with its splendors intolerable, blinds feeble, selfish Souls? Doubt it not!" I don't think that Pike would have agreed that Lucifer and Satan were one and the same. In Morals and Dogma Pike wrote that, "...there is no rebellious demon of Evil, or Principle of Darkness coexistent and in eternal controversy with God, or the Principle of Light... (page 324)." Then Pike explains in Morals and Dogma that ""…Satan is not a black god, but the negation of God. For the initiates, this is not a Person, but a Force, created for good, but which may serve for evil. It is the instrument of Liberty or Free Will. (page 102)." On one of the websites of James Lloyd he quotes Daniel 11: 27-39 and commnts on it: http://www.christianmediaresearch.com/cmc-65.html "Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. But in his estate shall he honor the god of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory…. (Daniel 11:37-39)" "This passage has mystified scholars for many centuries as they sought to understand the particulars of this veiled passage. As Daniel was told "shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end" (Daniel 12:4)." Daniel 11: 37-39 is talking about an impersonal force,. similar to the "god" of the Masons. But unlike the God of the Bible, the Masonic "god" of Albert Pike is not a person. There are other verses in the Bible that deal with pagan religions derived from ancient Babylon, Babylonian Mystery Religions and the secret societies coming down through history based upon all this. Ezekiel 8: 7-17 is a very interesting presentation of occult practices and some have found hints of secret societies and even Freemasonry in these verses. Ezekiel is told by God to dig through a wall. The building he was to enter apparently was not normally accessible by doors. Ezekiel was shown idols and pagan rituals which are called abominations in the text. In Ezekiel 8: 24 "...he brought me to the gate of the Lord's house which was toward the north; and behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz." Tammuz was a Babylonian god and the symbol of death and rebirth in nature. He was the husband or consort of Ishtar. Ishtar leads her followers in lamentation and weeping for Tammuz.. She then descends to the nether world, and after many trials succeeds in bringing him back to life. Tammuz was Osiris in Egyptian myth. The Babylonian pair were Ishtar and Tammuz, and in Egypt they were Isis and Osiris. In Egyptian mythology, Osiris was identified with the sun-god. Ezekiel 8: 16 says about 25 men were seen with their back to the temple of the Lord, with their faces to the east "...and they worshipped the sun to the east." Here is a connection to the secret societies, including Freemasonry, that come out of ancient pagan sun worship. Psalm 118: 22 says "The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner." Matthew 21: 42 shows that Psalm 118: 22 was a prophecy that was fulfilled in Christ. "The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes." The word "builders" is used in the Old Testament in other places, but there it refers to actual builders of buildings. In Psalm 118: 22 builders is metaphoric. Peter in Acts 4: 11 calls the Pharisees "you builders." He says "This is the stone which was set at naught of you builders, which is become the head of the corner." Now why would Peter call the Pharisees "you builders?" He is using "builders" in a metaphoric sense, not referring to them as actual stone masons. He is referring to some kind of pagan religious influence upon the Pharisees in calling them "builders," and the choice of this word does seem to point back to Solomon and Hiram (see I Kings 5: 18, for example, which talks about the builders of Solomon and Hiram). Solomon and Hiram are important in Freemasonry. Freemasonry is not just a fraternity of the good ol boys. Its a pagan religion and is clearly not Christian, and if one is a Christian he or she should have nothing to do with the Masons. At its higher levels, the 32nd and 33rd degrees, Freemasonry is much like the elite Skull and Bones Society of Yale. One member of the Skull and Bones Society went to West Texas as a sort of carpetbagger of the early fifties. See http://www.tarpley.net/bush8.htm Online : George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography --- by Webster G. Tarpley & Anton Chaitkin, especially their "Chapter -VIII- The Permian Basin Gang, 1948-59 "During the years following the Second World War, the patrician families of the Eastern Anglophile Liberal Establishment sent numbers of their offspring to colonize those geographic regions of the United States which, the families estimated, were likely to prosper in the postwar period." Tarpley reveals how Daddy Bush deceived West Texas land owners with oil leases to make money. And so the Northeastern ruling elite - and there were others besides Daddy Bush who came to Texas - helped to corrupt the Texas culture. If my great grandfather, Gideon Blake Blackburn, who was in Texas during the days of the Republic, were brought back to Texas in 2007 by a time machine he might realize that a big part of the heritage of Texas is now only history. Gideon's brother, John L. D. Blackburn, my grandmother's uncle, was in the Texas Army and in the Mier Expedition, the "invasion" of Mexico.. |
