Today I finished reading a photography book Mountain Light: In Search of the Dynamic Landscape by Galen Rowel.
I liked the book very much. It was orginally published 1986, so from the high-tech point of view it is not up to date (film and semiautomatic cameras were used back then). For me this didn't have any effect, because all the knowledge about photography in the book is still very valid even with todays advanced digital SRL cameras. The book contains very essential information about landscape photography and philosofy behind photography in general. Another big topic of this book is moutain climbing. Most of the pictures in this book has been taken during mountain expeditions over the world and Galen Rowel describes also pretty detailed the backgrounds for these images. For me this was also plesant to read, because I like hiking/climbing. I would recommend this book to everyone interested in landscape photography and mountaneering. Now I'm just waiting the opportinity to climb some mountains! |
