Today I made my first little photography self assigment. I usually take all of my pictures of one subject just in few minutes. Professional photographers in the other hand can spend several hours on one subject. This is why I decided to shoot different subjects with different approach. Most of the images I shot were my normal "snapshots" and then my goal was to take also some images where I would spend at least 15 minutes with the subject. I used the time to select the best angle, lens and composition. I tried to choose the subjects in the samy way, altough you tend to select a little more interesting subjects if you are about to spend 15 minutes shooting them. This raises the question that maybe that is exactly the reason why pros use so much time; to rule out the uninteresting subjects.
Here is my shots. I processed all subjects in the same way (cropping, levels, etc). I would be nice to hear if someone sees the difference between snapshots and little thought pictures. Ofcourse non of the subject were that interesting, because they were selected pretty much by random.
So the question is, which were the two pictures where I really tried to think before shooting?
Answer: I got few answers to my query. All selected at least picture F and almoust everyone selected also C. But the correct answer was B and C... In fact the longest time I spend while taking picture B. I found out that it was very lousy subject so that is most likely why it seems like a random shot. F in the other hand was maybe the best subject and that is why it was voted so much. Although the results were not exactly what I was hoping for, it was a good learning opportunity.
