2007/8/29 - First acknowledgement on my photography "career"!
"Fotomaraton" photography competition was held last weekend in Finland. It is freely translated as "Phogography marathon". It was a competition where there were 12 subjects given one by one. Each subject lasted for two hours (exception two subjects in the middle of the night), and the pictures had to be taken in that time and sent to the competition web page. The competition lasted 24 hours, so it was a very long time to be photographing. In the end it was very nice experience and I'll look forward to participate to the competition also next year. In the overal results I didn't make it at all, BUT I got one tied best photograph reward subject wise! The reward will be some book, but it is not the point. The point was that this way my first success of any kind in photography competitions.
Picture below is my "winning" picture and also the link to my other photos in the competition. The subject of this picture was "Elämä on laiffii", meaning roughly "Life is life" formulated by the great finnish ski jumper Matti Nykänen.
