2008/9/5 - Prolems with image links

I have recently used a new kind of image links and there seems to be a lot of problems with those. Only strange thing is that my new portfolio image links seem to work although they are from the same place...

I try to fix the links soon.

Anyway I added again one picture more to the "1950's Apartment House" portfolio.

2008/8/31 - Update to portfolio

I added a third image to my "1950's Apartment House" portfolio with some doubts.

I also took a glance to my "not processed summer archives" and had enough time to process few images more. Here is one:

Pentax ME, 50mm, Kodak BW400CN film

I saw these nice patterns under a traffic circle in Mikkeli.

2008/8/27 - Curved Tree

I have not been able to look closer hardly any of the pictures that I have taken during the summer. Today I found this yet another kind of gothic tree shot from Vuohensaari area from my summer archives.

I also added a second photo to the "1950's Apartment House" portfolio.

2008/8/15 - 1950's Apartment House Portfolio

One of the first thoughts when we moved to our current flat, an apartment house build in the 1950's, was to create a portfolio of the house. Most common parts of the building are still pretty much like they were where originally, or at least I think so. There is just something mystic about the old attic and cellar of the house. Almost from the start I decided to take all the photographs with an old camera also, my Pentax ME. I only have one lens for it, 50mm f1.7 kit lens, so all photographs has been taken with it.

I have now taken three rolls of film mainly for this portfolio. This week I for the first time scanned the negatives and there is still some fine tuning to be done. I'll be adding images to this page as I get them ready.

Old Chair at the Attic:

I found this old chair laying around in the attic. Somehow the simplicity got to my eye and I took a few pictures of it. Taken with Kodak Professional BW400CN film.

Stairs:

There is no elevator in the house, so stairs have become familiar... Closeup from the stairs close to street door.

This photo is from the basement. There are individual storage rooms for all the flats. All nicely locked with a padlock. I basically like the image very much but I have a problem. I already strongly desaturated the colors of this image, but still I'm not convinced that it fits to the same portfolio with the two other images. This is the first time that I'm trying to create some kind of portfolio and I think it is very important that all the images in the portfolio really fit together. Well, lets see how it continues.

Rocking Chair:

This photo is also from the attic.  I found this old rocking chair abandoned in the corner. I made multiple exposures of the chair and this one is my favorite. I gave the chair a little swing just before taking this photo.

2008/8/2 - Swamp at Morning

Today, little after sunrise, I made a small walk to the forest nearby. Having not visited this area before I didn't have anything particular subject to photograph. When I was just turning back to home (without taking any pictures yet) I found this little swamp. Sun was way too high already for soft light, but there was still some mist laying around. I quickly took two shots directly to the sun.
