On Thursday the wife of our minister of state security was found guilty of drug trafficking, on Friday Sheryl Cwele was sentenced to 12 years in prison, (out of a maximum of 15 years)

Now two things come to mind immediately, either the minister is the most incapable minister of state security in the world or he is a crook and knew all along what she was doing.
In both instances there is a strong case to be made for his immediate resignation, or at least you would expect that in a civilised, world class democracy.

However you try to bend this story, how he did not know that she was trafficking is near impossible to explain, did he not look at her bank account? Didn't he notice the few 100's of thousand Rand in her account? Did her lifestyle not raise a few questions in his mind?
As a member of the ACDP said, "It is incomprehensible the state security minister can have an alleged drug trafficker in his house without him being aware of it".

And let's not forget his title here, the minister of state security; this is not what I would call a junior member of the government.

As usual we are now the laughing stock of the 'I told you this country was like Zimbabwe' camp.
