It's mothers day here in South Africa, most of our traditions, holidays come from the UK, but for some reason we don't follow the same dates when it comes to mother's day.

I took the girls out shopping yesterday to get something for their mother, in the end, 'we' settled for a bunch of flowers and a simple card. We were supposed to spend the day out somewhere as a family, this is what the wife wanted.

But, as it turned out, the weather didn't play along, it has been pouring rain, (and it still is as I write this), the first time it has rained like that in weeks. So in the end we just took a drive to our local playground during a break in the rain, (we thought the rain had stopped for good, it didn't).

Needless to say, t was not a good day for the mother, I feel really sorry for her, I know it meant a lot for her to do something together, as a family, something specia;. In the end we did even less than we normally do on week-end.
