When I started this blog my plan was to write, (and dazzle you), about my everyday life as a father in South Africa, maybe add a few rants about my country. But, as time went by, it has become painfully obvious to me how boring my life really is.
Monday to Friday I go to work, I wouldn’t consider myself lazy by any stretch of the imagination, so I put in a good few hours. I go home, we have dinner, I bath one of the girls, read a story or two. We then watch a bit of TV, like an old couple, her on her couch, me on mine, around 10ish, we go to bed.
On week-ends I do some household chores, fixing a fence, painting a wall. I am not much of a handyman, so most of what I do is very basic. When the gardener comes, (when I can afford him), I ask him to do more complicated chores, mainly because he knows better than I do what to do.
We always try tp go somewhere on Saturdays and Sundays to get the girls out of the house, but nowhere exiting, more often than not, we go to the beach or to some random playground, (like the kids really care if we go back to the same place!).
That’s it, that’s my life.
On the social front, I go to Rugby from time to time, I drink too much during the game, I go home and fall asleep in front of the TV, (in a semi drunken state I always feel sorry for myself that the ‘party’ ended far too soon). In fact there was no party.
We might also visit friends from time to time, (we are not social outcasts, by any means, we do get a few invites).
Maybe I should have a 'new-half-year' resolution, do something more interesting with my life, something I would like to write here from time to time.
I am not talking about climbing the Himalayas here, just something a little exciting to get the blood pumping.
Any suggestions?
Anyone...
