Do you know that by drinking more than two sugar-sweetened beverages a day, the risk of getting heart disease and diabetes increases especially if you are a woman?
Being obese is usually associated with the consumption of any drink that contains sugar. Currently, there are campaigns being carried out to cut down the consumption of such drinks. Unfortunately, sugary drinks may not have any relationship with the extra pounds you gained according to a new study by American Heart Association.
If you are a middle aged woman who consume more than two sweetened beverages a day, your levels of triglycerides are 4 times higher than those consume less. The effect is also similar for your impared blood sugar level.
You may have more belly fat due to the high consumption of soda drinks. But your weight may remain the same.
Belly fat can pose danger to your health. This type of fat is hidden below the surface your skin. It can stimulate the production of certain chemicals in your body which will interferre with your insulin production, blood pressure, and cholesterol.
With the combination of all these health hazards, you may end with metabolic syndrome. It is a collective risk factors may lead to more serious medical conditions like stroke, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
