6/30/2006 - First Encounter with a Police Officer
Posted in Daily Life

So last night I was coming home from my night class. I noticed that up by the Exxon, which is near my subdivision, there were flashing lights of several police cars. So my first thought was, 'Oh my goddess there has been a shooting or a robbery.' Ha! Come to find out they were inspecting people to see if they were wearing seatbelts. I, of course, always wear my seatbelt. So anyway, I had to stop and this is the conversation I had with the officer, who was really nice:

Officer: Could I have your driver's license....? (all the regular stuff)

Me: Of course. I'm a bit nervous.

Officer: No need to be nervous.

I'm scrambling around in the friggin van to find the registration and insurance for I had already given my driver's license.

Officer: Well that is enough. Have a good night and buckle your seatbelt.

Me: I'm sorry to be an inconvenience.

Officer: No need to apologize.

Me: Thanks.

I buckled my seatbelt and left. It was so nervewracking. Next time I will be better.

Blessings!

Serenity
