Well I am back from West Virginia and I am so glad. I love my grandmother but we get into such arguments that it is not even fucking funny. We got into both a theological debate and political debate. Let me tell you about it.
So my grandma and I were talking about my cousin Shawn. He is living in Singapore right now and I think he is either going to be a Buddhist or Hindu preist and work at a temple. So my grandmother tells me that if you are born in to Catholicism that you cannot convert over, that it is wrong. I'm thinking: fuck that bitch. So I try to explain to her in a polite and respectful tone that you can be Catholic and embrace other religions. But with my grandmother it is like she has to be right so she ignores everything you say without giving yo ua fucking chance.
Political Debate:
So next we talk about Shawn and how he sent a 7-page letter to my uncle saying how screwed up the government here is and frankly, I agree with him. I tell my grandmother that I am a democrat all the fucking way and she is like 'you have to vote for the right person'. Well hell, Bush is not the right person.
*sighs* It's been a long and difficult weekend. I will talk later.

Sweetheart I, think your grandmother was going according to dogmatic teachings amd policy of Vatican precepts in that context she may be right, but in everyday practicality you are probabaly right many people in the catholic religion convert to other religions especially women, because many women feel like they are treated unequally to men and are denied the right to be priests and the Goddess concept is not accepted. However your grandmother should allow you your opinion and the right to explain and defend it, but sweetheart bear in mind she's getting on in years and try not to fault her too much
When the debate gets too heated take a break get granma's favorite food or snack suprise her with it give her a hug and kiss tell her you love her but respectfully disagree but hey grandma you know what? I really admire your spunk and determination and isn't it great that I inherited these great qualities from you?
Maybe it will work, in any event I just thought I might contribute something that might make your life a little easier sweetheart.
