Is it hypocritical to read the bible when you are a Wiccan? I have never fully read the bible and my mom recently bought me a student bible (because I wanted to learn about it). I was just wondering if it is hypocritical of me. I hope not. Anyway, talk later.

No I do not think it is hypocritical to read the bible if you are a Wiccan, or to read any orther mattieral for that matter, I own a small collection of holy books from varrious different religons, incuding a copy of the bible though I have not read it yet, only partially. And I have a friend who is a Luciferian who probaly knows the bible better then even most Christians do.

Thanks so much for your comments about that awful voodoo doll. Shivers! I don't think you're hypocritical at all. You just have an open mind. The Bible is a(an?) historic document to be read and studied by the faithful and by scholars. Just because you read something doesn't mean that you accept it as, well, gospel!

No I definitely do not think you are hypocritical for wanting to read the Bible or any other Holy book from other faiths. If we all took the time to understand and be tolerant of every one elses religious faith or lack there of, the world would be better the ware.
I myself like to read other faiths Holy books and visit other faiths Holy buildings and by doing this I have learnt that at the end of the day we all belong to the human family tree and as such should be loving and tolerant of each others diverse beliefs. I hope you will enjoy the experience of reading the Bible. I wish you peace and contentment with your Wiccan faith.
