Dedication
I have been studying witchcraft and Wicca for many years and yet I have never done a full dedication ritual. I know, isn't it about time? Anyway, I plan to do so on the traditional holiday of Samhain/Samhuinn. I am still deciding though if I want it on November 1st or 11th, because some say it is the 1st or 11th. I know it is going to help me majorly and that by doing so I will be practicing more and more to be a good and ethical witch. Anyway, talk later.

Witches Weekly Question of the Week
When did you first realize that the pagan path was for you?
I suppose I first realized it was right for me when I realized that Paganism nor Wicca does not judge you. I always felt in a Catholic church like I was being judged and I did not like that. I also like the fact that in Paganism and Wicca you are free to explore, not so in Catholicism. Anyway, those are my thoughts.
Blessings!

Witches Weekly Question of the Week
Who has been a spiritual mentor for you during your path? If you do not have one (or even if you do), what motivates you to say on your spiritual path?
I have not necessarily had a spiritual mentor. I think what motivates is my want to learn more about different paths and to not be a biased person. E.g. I don't want to be biased towards one religion. I want to explore different religions and not be brainwashed into thinking that one is the right path. Anyway, I hope that explains it.

Witches Weekly Question of the Week
Do you keep an equivalent of a book of shadows? What format do you keep it in? (digital, paper), how often do you use it, and is it categorized in any way?
Well personally...I do have a wip book of shadows but I do not have one completed. One day I would like to have a completed book of shadows, however, that will probably be a long while from now. I keep my bos in paper form. Simply because it is easier and more spiritual to me. I do not keep it updated...seeing as I am so busy with school. I feel very bad that I do not do so. However, I try to make sure I do add something at least once a month. Anyway, thats all for me.

Witches Weekly Question of the Week
What would you do if Christians came to a spiritual event that you were at, and recorded it, then publicized it and ridiculed it without your consent?
I would be absolutely outraged if they came and disrespected me like that. We certainly don't videotape them and I would not expect civilized adults to do such a thing. The keyword is civilized. People need to realize that others have the right to have an event free of ridicule. I would feel terrible if such a thing would happen.

Witches Weekly Question of the Week
What high days or holidays do you celebrate? And give a brief description of each.
Well, I try to celebrate all of the holidays/sabbats of the wiccan calendar. However, I make time for one which is Halloween/Samhain. That has always been my favorite holiday. I love it. Though I think all are equal and should be celebrated but there is something about Halloween that makes it my favorite Holiday. I usually carve pumpkins and prepare all month for the 30th-31st.

Witches Weekly Question of the Week
What is one thing relating to your spiritual path that you’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t due to lack of money, time, etc. (Examples could be….creating your own altar room, going to visit a historical monument related to your spirituality, etc).
I have always wanted to have my own spiritual workspace a.k.a. altar room stocked with magickal supplies and what not. However, I do not have the money to take on an important project like that. So I have to settle with what I have. Hopefully one day, Goddess willing, I will have a room for myself to worship. Anyway, gotta go.
Blessings!

Witches Weekly Question of the Week
What are some things that people do in the name of paganism or neo-paganism that tend to annoy you?
Umm. Well I don't know if there is anything that people do that annoy me unless if one sect trashes another sect, which should never happen. My one major annoyance is when people claim to be witches when they do not know or understand the studying and the time it takes. Because it is not about waving a wand. Okay. I probably am deviating. Sorry. That is all I have to say.

Witches Weekly Question of the Week
How do you feel about animal or blood sacrifices? In terms I’m speaking about using your own blood as a sacred object during a spiritual working, and using all parts of an animal (hunting deer for meat/pelts) rather than solely for ritual sacrifice. Though if you want to speak about plain animal sacrifice, by all means.
First, I think it is okay to use your own blood in rituals. I do not believe that it would be right to use animal blood in a ritual because animals are sacred to the god and goddess (at least I feel). I don't think that animal sacrifice is right. I couldn't imagine doing that just for a ritual.

Witches Weekly Question of the Week
What method do you use to plan through rituals or spellwork? (such as a ritual outline, etc) Give a brief rundown of how a particular ritual for you goes.
Well usually it depends on the ritual or spell that I am doing. I usually check to see when the moon phase that corresponds with the spellwork that I am going to be doing is happening. After that I will usually make a short outline of what I need to do during my ritual. I then gather my ritual supplies before that particular night comes around. Usually on the night of I take a shower (cause I don't have room to take a ritual bath) and imagine the negativity of the week flowing down the drain. I then create a circle and salute the elements then invite my personal deities into the circle. After I have done the initial work I usually meditate for a while and speak with my personal deities before doing spellwork. After I have done my spellwork I thank the deities for coming, dismiss (well say goodbye, I don't like to dismiss) the elements, and close the circle. That is the basic rundown on my rituals.

Decisions
Well I have been thinking about my religion of course. I have not been able to dedicate myself to studying and reading up on it as I usually did before getting into school. So I have decided that I am going to put my studying off until June of next year so I can devote my full attention to my education. That does not mean that I will quit worshipping my personal deities or not taking part in the sabbats. It just means that I will not be able to be as involved as usual. Anyway, I will talk later.
Blessings!

Religious beliefs
I know I have told you pretty much a lot about myself, including my spirtual beliefs, but I thought I would elaborate. I am first and foremost, a polytheist. I believe in many gods and goddesses. I believe each one has a personality of their own. Although, I have been known to say 'Goddess!' or 'God!', it is my belief that the gods and goddesses I worship are separate beings. I have a special relationship with Anubis. I don't remember exactly when Anubis became one of my personal gods', but when he called I listened. Anubis is the most frequent god I call upon because he is not just a god of death, he is a god of protection as well. Unless you have personally experienced Anubis' personality or felt his being then it is difficult to describe him. To me he is very serious yet he has a good sense of humor. I am very fond of him.
Anyway, don't know why I trailed off there. Oh...I believe in Jesus as well. I know it is odd for one who is a polytheist to believe in Jesus, and a Wiccan to boot, however, it is true. I don't believe in Hell. I believe that really bad people will get their justice done by the gods. In many ways I believe in the Egyptian death, where Anubis (I believe) weighs your soul or heart. I can't remember the entire thing now (i'll read up on it). I would like to finish reading the bible just to see what it has to say. I'm not totally biased! Anyway, I think that is all for now.
Blessings!

Anubis
I thought I would write a little about one of my more personal deities. It is odd that I feel such a strong connection to Anubis of the Egyptian Pantheon, however, I do. It is odd because I am so connected to the Celtic Pantheon. I don't remember exactly when Anubis first came to me, but I know that I immediately felt drawn to him. I think personally that one of my incarnations lived in Egypt and worshipped him. A few weeks ago I was praying to him and I felt a pressure on my shoulder and my back. It was so strange and I knew he was there as I prayed to him. I have such a deep respect for him. It is strange. However, I feel that it is a good relationship. When you are called by a god or goddess you should never ignore them. At least that is my opinion. Anyway, I will talk later.
Blessings!

Witches Weekly Question of the Week
Describe your preferred symbol of spirituality (pentacle, celtic cross, triquerta, etc). Explain what it means to you.
I think my symbol relates to the celtic path. I love the symbolism of the triquetra and the celtic cross. They are both beautiful symbols. To me, both are symbols of the path that I have chosen and the pantheon that I particularly feel close to, which is the the Celtic pantheon of course.

Do you consider yourself a political pagan? If so, what topics are most important to you and why? If you are not a political pagan, why?
Yes, I do consider myself a political pagan. The most important topics to me that are not related to paganism but which are political are abortion, animal rights, human rights, and environmental issues. Well...I suppose some can be linked to pagan issues as well. I just don't see enough pagans being political and showing concern for politics. Maybe that is just me. Anyway, those are my thoughts.

Witches Weekly Question of the Week

Do you ever feel yourself pulling away from your spirituality? If so, what do you do to recharge yourself?
There have been a few times that I did feel myself pull away from being a Wiccan. One was early on in my teens when I was forced more or less to go to this Catholic camp at a college. They brainwash I swear, because I came back wanting to join the choir at St. Francis'. Luckily I got a hold of myself and I realized that Wicca was right for me. It felt right. I am a polytheist and it just feels right to be in a religion like Wicca. So I have had doubts at one point in time, but I know now that Wicca is the religion for me.?As for the second question, I usually look over my BOS or meditate on the subject at hand.
Blessings!

Witches Weekly Question of the Week

If you were given the opportunity to talk about witchcraft and paganism to the local community via television, what would you want to say? What sort of topics would you feel were important to pinpoint to non-pagans?
I?would definitely talk about what Witchcraft and Paganism is not. It is not Satanism nor is it some teenage rebellion thing (which I have often heard and have had to experience). I would explain what Paganism is to the community and why it is important to accept pagans. Because we are like everyone else except we practice a different religion and in a different way. I don't know what else I would say.

Have you or anyone you know ever been discriminated against for their beliefs? If so, what was the outcome?
No not really. I have not really told anyone besides a few of my closest friends and my mom. So I have had the privilege to not be discriminated against for my beliefs. I do not condone discrimination in any form. It sickens me. I can't believe people can be so idiotic. Oh well.
I'm going to be posting more of these things every week. So look our for that.

Pagan forums
|
Well among the pagan and wiccan forums I frequent are mysticwicks.com and magickalforest.com. I have had a great time on both sites and I really enjoy visiting them and learning and interacting with others of my faith. I recently posted in MW about doing a HTML class since I have been creating websites since Goddess knows when. I would say about 1998. Anyway, I have to come up with a syllabus so I can propose the class to one of the moderator's on the site. I really look forward to trying this. I have never taught before and it would be an interesting experience to. So i'm hoping I can convince the moderator to let me teach an HTML class. It would be great. Anyway, have a good day!
Blessings!
