8/19/2006 - Shoes on the Table

Here is a supersistion which I grew up with, and I have not really heard of it elsewhere, so I do not know if it is really a known supersistion or just something in the family which had been passed on down through the generations.

The supersistion is that if you place shoes upon the top of a table it will bring bad luck and misfortune to the household. Now this is another one of those suspersitions that does have some base in logic, as you would not want your shoes which have been trugding around in dirt upon the ground and picking up you know what to then come into contact with the place where you are likely to have food.

Oddly enough despite the fact that I was rasied with this supersistion it is not one that has ever had any real bearing upon me, and I cannot say I really feel any particular beleif in it. It just never seeped into my subconcious I guess for whatever reason.
